Addictives and Bad Behaviours

Nowadays the most dangerous problem that threatens young people is to be addicted to alcohol and drugs,  and  bad behaviours that come with alcohol and drug addiction. Every year millions of people die of  drugs or face with their saddening results.

            There are lots of reasons for being addicted. One of them is bad friendship and ignorance. If a teenager doesn’t like his way of life and wants to live a different life, this causes him to pretend like the others.This desire makes him blind and he can’t be aware of whether his friends are good or not. Then,because of  lack of  experiences , he does everything that can make him “cool”.Unfortunately he becomes an addict.

The other reason is parental problems and the characteristic features of individuals. Insufficient communication between child and parents causes serious results, such as lack of self-confidence and distrust. As a result of this, they themselves try to find some solutions to their problems and to the conflicts with their parents . But the result is miserable all the time. They use alcohol and drugs to get away from their depressions  and sometimes just for wonder.

Addiction isolates teens from life instead of making them social and make their lives terrible. This situation affects not only teenagers but also their families. But we can’t forget that parents can be as guilty as teenagers. All they need is a bit of understanding.

To get  rid of addiction; the government should educate people, social organisations should work harder to help addicted people give up all the bad habits and the police should increase the security cautions.

To sum up, everybody should be informed about drugs and their results. Otherwise, the world becomes a place where there is no peace.

Migration

Migration is the basic problem of many countries and also for  Turkey. But in Turkey there is migration within the boundaries of the country.  The most important reasons for migration from one city or village to another city are economical, educational, situational and political.

Why do people leave their hometown and go far away ?

Especially in rural areas unemployment is a big handicap.Since there are no fertile lands to plant, they prefer migrating to other cities to work temporarily in some certain seasons. Some of them go far away permanently to get a better job  and achieve higher standards of life.

Some people migrate to developed cities for their children because they want them to get  good education and adopt to the way of living in big cities. And they want to live together with their relatives who have moved to other cities.

Most people are forced to migrate situationally, these  reasons are; bad climate and

natural disasters.

Among these reasons, political ones are inevitable. Terrorism, interior war and some parental conflicts cause the people to migrate.

As for the last one but the most threatening one in my country is ‘brain emigration’. Every year, educated young brains prefer going abroad to improve themselves because of insufficient conditions , lack of scientific opportunities and support of government.

Is migration a solution or a bad result ?

As the population increases in big cities, some social problems arise such as finding accomodation, unemployment, traffic jam, pollution, cultural difference and adoptation problems. Finally this forces  people to migrate to other countries.

Migration will always go on its endless journey.

School Life in Turkey

I feel lucky for being a student in Anıttepe High School. It is in the centre of  Ankara, so it’s easy to get there. In the school there are about 1600 students and 70 teachers.We go to school five days a week..Everyday lessons start at 8:30 and finish at 3 or 4 o’clock.

Our educational system is very different from the others. It has both advantages and dissadvantages. In our country there are a lot of rules which the students have to obey at school for example all students have to wear uniforms and most of us are against this.

Our school has got three floors, a big garden, a sports hall, a library, an auditorium, an art and music room. Despite its good qualities, our school has some deficiencies. Our canteen is too small , and the prices are sometimes  expensive. And about the educational system; we have some unnecessary lessons as well as the necessary ones. For example we are in an English class and we have 13 different subjects

Our school is both good at educational opportunities and  social activities. Which  are very important for our headmaster. He is very kind and cheerful. He loves us and we love him too.

As for our teachers, all of them are experienced and friendly .They behave like our family.. They are always ready to listen to us and try to solve our problems. We love our school and teachers.
